To prepare today’s students for healthy participation in a multicultural world, this unit aims to challenge perceptions, raise awareness, and foster cross-cultural competencies. Specifically, students, faculty, staff, and the school community will explore the importance of culture and identity, learn about race- and ethnicity-based privilege, and learn to appreciate diversity and commonality across the human experience. The unit will culminate in a project that incorporates the skills and perspectives learned throughout the lessons.
